Former Indians cricketer and commentator Sanjay Manjrekar on Wednesday said Kieron Pollard’s ‘compliment’ for him on Twitter “came out of nowhere”.
Manjrekar had called the West Indies batsman “brainless” while commenting in a match between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders on 9 April. Pollard had later expressed his anguish over the comment on Twitter.
During Mumbai’s match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Wednesday, Ravi Shastri asked Manjrekar whether he had a “chance to speak to him (Pollard) when you went for the toss”.
“Kept a safe distance,” quipped Manjrekar. “That was a shocker came from nowhere. The compliment he paid me came out of nowhere,” he added.
"...Because you get paid to talk you can continue with your verbal diarrhoea,” Pollard had tweeted.
Mumbai Indians beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by four wickets at the Wankhede stadium on Wednesday.
