India’s batsmen Rohit Sharma and Kedar Jadhav’s departure has been delayed for the Champions Trophy, which is scheduled to begin on 1 June in the United Kingdom.

The Mumbai lad, who has been out of the Indian side since October 2016 due to a thigh injury, requested the BCCI if he could stay back for a few days and attend his cousin’s wedding, according to the Indian Express.

Jadhav, on the other hand, couldn’t fly out with the team on Wednesday, because he didn’t receive his visa on time, even after the BCCI asked the British High Commission to clear all requirements.

A BCCI official said that Rohit Sharma had requested the BCCI if he could stay back for a couple of days, long time back.

Rohit Sharma had made his request a long time back. So the BCCI agreed to the request. His (Jadhav) visa is cleared now and he is expected to leave on Friday. We waited for it earlier but nothing happened till late on Wednesday evening. Both players will be available for first warm up game on 28 May.
