India made three changes to their playing XI with all-rounder Vijay Shankar making his 50-over debut replacing pacer Mohammed Siraj.
Vijay Shankar was included in the squad for the three-match ODI series in place of Hardik Pandya, who was sent back in light of the Koffee with Karan row.
Apart from Shankar, spin bowling all-rounder Kedar Jadhav came in place of an out-of-form Ambati Rayudu while leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal gets his first game of the series as Kuldeep Yadav was rested.
Meanwhile, India won the toss and elected to bowl on Friday in the deciding third one-day cricket international against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Australia made two changes, naming Billy Stanlake in place of Jason Behrendorff and Adam Zampa ahead of Nathan Lyon.
Some rain fell in Melbourne prior to the toss, which was delayed by a few minutes.
Australia won the first match of the three-match series by 34 runs and India won the second by six wickets.
India’s Mahendra Singh Dhoni was back among runs in the first two ODIs, scoring 51 and 55*.
