In another major setback after their matches were moved from Chennai in the wake of protests demanding formation of Cauvery water board, Chennai Super Kings' batsman Suresh Raina has been ruled out for their next two matches due to a calf injury, ESPN Cricinfo reported. This will be the first time Raina will miss a Chennai Super Kings match in his career.

Raina had sustained the injury during CSK’s match against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Chepauk stadium on Tuesday.

Raina's absence has put CSK's middle order in further trouble as Kedar Jadhav has been ruled out of the tournament due to a hamstring injury.

According to ESPN Cricinfo, South African skipper Faf du Plessis may be available for CSK's clash with Kings XI Punjab on Sunday, he has been on the sidelines because of a finger injury. Even Murali Vijay could be available for Sunday's game after missing the first two matches as he got injured during practice for CSK's opening game against Mumbai Indians.

CSK had lost Mitchell Santner even before the tournament began.

Chennai will play KXIP on Sunday as they look to maintain their winning streak after defeating Mumbai and Kolkata in their first two games.
