The fourth ‘opening ceremony’ of this season’s Indian Premier League and as Ajay Jadeja said, it was “the best we have seen so far”.

Kings XI Punjab’s opening fixture of the season and Harshdeep Kaur added some local flavour with her melodious tunes and Disha Patani grooved to latest hits.

After the ceremony, Punjab skipper Glenn Maxwell won the toss and elected to field against Pune at the Holkar Stadium. Pune made two changes in their playing XI, bringing in Aussie all-rounder Dan Christian for leg-spinner Adam Zampa while Rahul Chahar replaced his brother Deepak Chahar.

Meanwhile, Maxwell became Punjab's 10th captain in the IPL to go out for a toss and have South Africans Hashim Amla and David Miller, besides Australia's Marcus Stoinis and Maxwell as the four overseas players.

Before the cricketing actions gets underway in just a bit, take a look at some of the pictures from the ceremony.
