Openers Unbeaten at Stumps

Shikhar Dhawan and Murali Vijay manage to stay unbeaten at the end of the 22 overs that India batted on day 1 of the Bengaluru Test.

India: 80/2 at stumps, trail South Africa by 134 runs.

Openers Murali Vijay and Shikhar Dhawan have made it past the first 10 overs without losing a wicket.

After two ducks in Mohali, Shikhar Dhawan has nudged a few around to get to 33-ball-22 while Murali Vijay has a 31-ball-14.

AB walks down the pitch and the ball touches his pad and flies towards Saha. Rather, meets him midway. The new keeper dives forward and only just latches on with his left glove. Umpires go up for a final verdict but it’s an out.

AB walks back for a 115-ball 85. South Africa: 177/7 as tea is called.

Virat and co make Jadeja lead the players off the field.
