India’s first ODI match against England in the ongoing three-match series was also the one where MS Dhoni was playing as a non-captain for the first time after an illustrious ten-year long captaincy career.
But it seems like the feeling has not sunk in yet for Dhoni.
At the end of 27th over in the match, Dhoni caught Eoin Morgan behind the stumps and appealed. When the decision did not go in his favour, he immediately signaled for a review.
Now as a player he is not supposed to do that because reviews can only be demanded by the skipper.
However, the new skipper Virat Kohli managed the situation pretty well. Showing faith in Dhoni’s confidence, he went for the review too.
Eoin Morgan was declared out at the end of 27th over.
One thing is clear – Dhoni might no longer be the captain but his experience is sure to benefit the team in the times to come.
