India's vaunted batting line-up failed to recover from the early blows dealt by New Zealand's concerted bowling effort and wobbled to 239 for 7 on the opening day of the second Test at Kolkata on Friday.

Barring Cheteshwar Pujara (87) and Ajinkya Rahane (77), none of the batsmen came good after skipper Virat Kohli opted to bat on the relaid pitch of the historic Eden Gardens stadium, hosting India's 250th home Test.

Wriddhiman Saha and Ravindra Jadeja will resume batting on day two of the test against New Zealand.

The under-fire BCCI, on Friday adjourned its crucial Special General Meeting until Saturday, officially missing their 30 September deadline to implement the Lodha panel recommendations. The meeting was called to consider the sweeping reforms suggested by the Supreme Court-appointed Lodha Committee, on technical grounds.

It is learnt that the reason for adjournment of the SGM was that some of the BCCI's member units had not come to the meeting with letter of authorisation.

They have been told to get a proper letter of authorisation from their respective units.

Olympic champion Abhinav Bindra, heading the five-member review committee to probe the shooters' Rio Games debacle, has submitted its report to the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) and recommended the apex body to "make it public in toto".

The air rifle ace, who had recused himself from questioning the shooters as he was himself a part of the team, said "I handed over the report of the NRAI review committee" to president Raninder Singh.

While the panel wants the observations to be made public, one of the conditions laid out by NRAI while forming the panel was that it would remain confidential.
