Man Killed After Being Struck by Lightning in Kolkata
A man was killed after being struck by lightning in Maidan area of Kolkata on 28 July, police said.
Ajoy Mallick (27) was hit by lightning during a thunderstorm at around 6.30 pm, they said.
He was rushed to SSKM Hospital where doctors declared him "brought dead".

The Trinamool Congress (TMC) leadership, on 28 July, sniffed a BJP-RSS hand behind the cancellation of party supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's engagement by St Stephen's College in New Delhi and said her voice "cannot be silenced".
St Stephen's College has withdrawn an invite extended to Banerjee to attend an event and interact with the students of the famed institute.

Yamuna Crosses Danger Mark, Authorities on Alert
The district administration of Yamunanagar has sounded a high alert as the water level in the Yamuna river crossed the five lakh cusecs mark following continuous rainfall in Haryana and Himachal Pradesh.
Insisting that the situation was under control, the district administration, however, said all the necessary arrangements have been made to tackle the flood-like situation.
