Expelled AIADMK MP Sasikala Pushpa on Monday demanded a CBI enquiry into the health condition of ailing Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and alleged that her aide Sasikala Natarajan was now "controlling" the day-to-day affairs of the government.

CM Jayalalithaa, who was doing well, fell sick all of a sudden. A proper enquiry must be done into her health condition which deteriorated suddenly. It should be found out that whether she fell sick naturally and or was forced to become sick.

In the name of CM, Sasikala is controlling all the officers in the state and trying to gain power within the party and the state machinery.

In a letter to Tamil Nadu Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao, the MP said that she fears "some people" around CM might forge her signature to nominate a deputy general secretary in her absence and hence asked the Governor to verify Jayalalithaa's signature.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa is likely to be discharged soon from hospital, Kerala Governor P Sathasivam said on Monday after visiting the Apollo Hospital with Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

All the specialist doctors informed us that there is a good response to the treatment and she is likely to be discharged soon and soon she will take over the administration of the state.

Meanwhile, Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu told reporters that only the ruling AIADMK party can decide on an acting chief minister or deputy chief minister till Jayalalithaa recovers.

Naidu said Jayalalithaa was recovering well and there was no need to believe "baseless rumours" about her health.

Puducherry Lt Governor Kiran Bedi also visited the Apollo Hospital.

The 68-year-old Jayalalithaa was admitted to the hospital on 22 September for fever and dehydration.
