Ivanka Trump, unlike her father US President Donald Trump, does not think that the media is the enemy of the people, reported Washington Post. She also feels that separating children from their parents at the border was a low point of her White House tenure.

On being asked, at an event hosted by Axios, if she agrees with President Trump’s frequent criticism of the news media, the white house advisor and America’s first daughter said that she does not.

I’ve certainly received my fair share of reporting on me personally that I know not to be fully accurate, so I have some sensitivity around why people have concerns and gripe, especially when they sort of feel targeted, but, no, I do not consider the media the enemy of the people.

According to the Washington Post report, when asked about Trump’s “zero tolerance” policy on immigration resulting in the separation of migrant children from their parents on the border, Ivanka said that it was a low point for her.

I feel very strongly about that. I am very vehemently against family separation.

According to the Washington Post report, Ivanka Trump had reportedly asked her father to end the practice but had not condemned it publicly.

Discussing the high point of her tenure in White House, Ivanka Trump cited the commutation of the sentence of Alice Marie Johnson by President Trump. Johnson was was a 63-year-old woman serving life in prison for a nonviolent drug conviction, reported Washington Post. The President’s attention had been brought to Johnson’s case by celebrity Kim Kardashian.

Ivanka Trump told Axios anchor Mike Allen that she cried as she watched Jonson run into the arms of her family waiting outside the prison on news.

It was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen. It reminds you of the real impact you have on people.
