Oscar-winning actor, humanitarian worker, mother of six, Angelina Jolie will now be seen juggling another role – that of a Professor at London School of Economics.
Jolie would be part of the Center for Women, Peace and Security as a visiting faculty in a new master’s programme that starts taking applicants in the fall (so if you’re suddenly interested, its not too late to be taught by the hottest professor-to-be ever).
Angelina has been a part of many humanitarian works – being part of the UN for over a decade – and often visits refugee camps. She was appointed along with William Hague, with whom she founded the Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict Initiative in 2012, when Hague was British foreign secretary.
The course intends to “[develop] strategies to promote gender equality and enhance women’s economic, social and political participation and security”, with visiting professors playing an active part.
Jolie was named the Goodwill Ambassador for UNHCR in 2001. “I honestly want to help,” she said. “I dont believe I feel differently from other people. I think we all want justice and equality, a chance for a life with meaning.”
Well, we are sure that such an eminent personality would definitely be able to help bring change – and what better way than to teach young minds?
Good luck for your class, Angelina! Hope it brings some brilliant individuals to the world.
