The Grinch is in the house, boys and girls. He resides in North Korea and is called Kim Jong Un. Incidentally, he also happens to be the Premier of the country that has banned sarcasm, blue jeans and a number of men’s hairstyles.

The latest addition to this list of banned items in this wonderful mess of a country is Christmas. Say goodbye to festive cheer as Kim geared up to celebrate the birthday of his grandmother, since celebrating the birth of Jesus is too mainstream.

Jong-suk was born on Christmas Eve in 1919. Her credentials include being an anti-Japanese guerrilla and Communist activist. Additionally, she was wife to the first dictator of the country, Kim II Sung, and mother to former leader Kim Jong II. For all of these reasons, the granny is given the title “Sacred Mother of the Revolution”.

According to a report by New York Post, in 2014 Kim threatened neighbouring South Korea with all-out war when the country revealed plans to erect a Christmas tree on the border it shares with North Korea.

Currently, there are 50,000 - 70,000 Christians imprisoned in situations reminiscent of concentration camps in North Korea , as stated by the same report.
