Worried Citizens Reach Out on Twitter as Istanbul Faces Hailstorm
Golfball-sized hail appalled Istanbul, and a brave reporter continues reporting amidst the dreadful weather.
Istanbul was hit by a severe hailstorm on 27 July, with golfball-sized hail stones knocking down trees and damaging several buildings in the Turkish capital, according to Al Jazeera.
Reportedly, this was the second time in just 10 days that a storm of this magnitude battered the city.
Bone-chilling videos of the storm have been circulating all over the internet.
A reporter with A News braved the city’s weather condition to broadcast live from the streets. "I can barely stand up... I feel the pain of the hail stones on my body," she says during her broadcast.
The roads and streets were flooded as a result of the storm and the city came to a standstill.
