A message has been going viral that Mumbai Police have caught two men for "Naayi Jihad" in Bandra.

The message, which comes with a photo of two men, says that a Muslim person has confessed to the police that mosques are paying for “Barber Jihad” in which a Hindu person’s skin is slightly cut with a blade infected with AIDS.

The message further says: “More and more boys are being prepared for the internal war...Swear on your closest friend that you will tell all your close ones to get their hair cut and shaving done only by Hindu barbers.”

The message in Hindi reads:

‘एक मुलले ने पुलिस के सामने कुबूल किया है कि मस्जिदों में नाई जेहाद के लिए पैसा मिलता है

जिसमें हिंदुओं को,,,एड्स,,,के ब्लेड से हल्का सा चीरा लगाया जाता है

ओर ज्यादा से ज्यादा लड़कों को अंदरूनी युद्ध के लिए तैयार किया जा रहा है

आपको अपने सबसे प्यारी व्यक्ति की कसम सभी नजदीकी लोगों को बताना कि किसी हिंदू नाई से ही सेव व कटिंग किराये ’

The Quint received this viral photo-message on WhatsApp from multiple people. The message is also being circulated widely on Twitter and Facebook.

WHAT'S THE REALITY?

This viral message is not true. On conducting a reverse image search, The Quint found that the photograph attached with the message is actually of Bhojpuri actor Irfan Khan and an accomplice, Sanjay Yadav, from July 2013, when they were arrested in connection with a fraud case.

A message has been going viral that Mumbai Police have caught two men for “Naayi Jihad” in Bandra.

According to an India TV report from 18 July 2013, the two men were arrested on charges of stealing credit cards, cheque books and bill books, and then purchasing valuables.

Gold ornaments worth Rs 2.5 lakh, 30 stolen credit cards and 15 cheque books were seized from the duo, an ABP News report about the same incident also said.

The ABP News video report also showed the duo being arrested, which proved that the viral photo-message has been taken from the scene of their arrest.

This is clearly a photo from a different incident which is being manipulated to spread this viral fake narrative.
