Popular character actor Dalip Tahil was reportedly arrested on Sunday night by the Mumbai police in a case of drunk driving. According to a report in The Hindu, Dalip Tahil was driving under the influence of alcohol and had rammed his car into an autorickshaw, injuring the occupants.
The accident occurred in Mumbai’s Khar suburb on Sunday night at 9pm and the passengers in the autorickshaw were Jenita Gandhi and Gaurav Chugh. The passengers allege that Dalip Tahil’s car hit their autorickshaw from behind and fled without stopping towards Santa Cruz. However, due to the Ganesh visarjan processions, the road was jammed with traffic and the car could not get ahead.
When Jenita and Gaurav caught up with the car and asked the driver to step out, they realised it was actor Dalip Tahil. The actor allegedly started arguing and pushed Jenita and Gaurav, at which point they called the Khar police station and a team reached the spot and arrested Tahil according to the report.
