In another reminder that all is not well within the Samajwadi Party, and more importantly the Yadav family, party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav on Friday said that the party’s chief ministerial candidate will be decided after the results for the assembly polls are released, reported CNNNews18.

This statement is in stark contrast to the Samajwadi Party’s earlier stance, where the current chief minister was projected as the party’s CM candidate.

Speaking at a press conference in Lucknow, Mulayam Singh Yadav further revealed that the party will officially kickstart its election campaign on 5 November, which is also the 25th anniversary of the formation of the party.

Earlier, CM Akhilesh Yadav and his uncle Shivpal had indulged in a public fallout after the chief minister had stripped Shivpal of key portfolios on 13 September, hours after he was replaced with Shivpal as the state party president.
