As if we needed more violent clashes between the BJP and the TMC, they were at it again at Amit Shah’s rally in Kolkata and this time it resulted in the destruction of a 200-year-old statue of Ishwarchandra Vidyasagar. It has become a narrative of Bengal vs BJP outsiders. Mamata has doubled down on her election campaign, turning it into a protest against the vandalism of the statue by who she calls 'outsiders'.
