‘Lalu pulled and hugged me’ — after Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s bear hug with tainted politician Lalu Prasad Yadav earned him flak, his defense too failed to do any damage control.

Hug a Dent to Kejriwal’s Clean Image?

Critics are accusing Kejriwal of hypocrisy, saying how can a man who built his party on the principle of anti-graft hug Lalu, who was convicted on charges of corruption. They are also doubting whether Kejriwal can clean Delhi of corruption as he had promised, after being so ‘close’ to the RJD chief?

Arvind’s Defense “Ridiculous and Childhish”: RJD Spokesperson

Meanwhile, RJD party leader Ashok Sinha dismissed Kejriwal’s claim that he was forced into the embrace and had no intention of hugging the Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo.

The RJD spokesperson called Arvind’s defense, “ridiculous and childish”. He also said that Kejriwal came on his own (at the said function), fully knowing it was RJD’s show.

‘Hugged Lalu, Haven’t Hugged Corruption’

Downplaying the incident, Raghav Chadha, AAP National spokesperson said that even though Kejriwal had ‘hugged’ Lalu, he hadn’t hugged corruption, and that as a party that sacked its own minister on charges of corruption, AAP would always be firm in their stand against any kind of graft.
