The reign of JD(U) chief and current Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will continue according to the CNN-IBN Axis-My India pre-poll survey.
The survey suggests that the Mahagathbandhan alliance of the JD(U)-RJD and Congress is in a position to easily win a majority in the 243-seat Bihar Assembly. The survey also notes that the BJP’s National Democratic Alliance, after a wide seat gap, will hold the maximum number of seats.
The Axis-My India survey, the largest pre-poll exercise of its kind, has projected that the Mahagathbandhan alliance may get 129-145 seats out of 243 and hence will be in a position to form a government.
The NDA alliance which consists of the BJP along with Ram Vilas Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party, the Rashtriya Lok Samta Party and Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) will be able to bag only 87-103 seats.
The Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party, Nationalist Congress Party, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) which fall under the Others category will, in all likelihood, be routed and may collectively win only 8-14 seats.
The survey also answers a few other questions, which were tweeted out by CNN-IBN during the broadcast.
