In yet another highly controversial statement, Union Minister Ananth Kumar Hegde on Wednesday, 30 January, called Congress President Rahul Gandhi a “hybrid specimen” that cannot be found in “any laboratory in the world,” ANI reported.

“He (Rahul Gandhi) does not know this country. He has no clue about religion. Look how they lie. A father who is a Muslim, a mother who is a Christian and the son is supposed to be a Brahmin. How is that even possible? You will not find such a hybrid specimen in any laboratory across the world. You’ll find such specimen in Congress laboratory in this country, where the father and the son are of two different types.”

Hegde was reportedly addressing an event at Karnataka’s Karwar, the report added.

Hegde was in the news earlier this week, when he had make yet another inflammatory remark saying: “If a hand has touched a Hindu girl, then that hand must not exist.”

In the same speech, Hegde had said that the Taj Mahal and Qutub Minar were not built by medieval Muslim rulers, but were originally Hindu temples and buildings.

Later, Hegde also got into a clash with Karnataka Congress leader Dinesh Gundu Rao, calling him a “man who ran behind a Muslim lady”. Hegde’s verbal attack on Gundu came after the latter condemned Hegde’s provocative statement and asked him about his achievements as a minister.
