FIR Lodged Against Akhilesh Yadav, 28 Others

The Lucknow police lodged an FIR against former Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav and 28 other leaders under the Epidemic Act.

Yadav had led a demonstration in Lucknow on Monday after the police stopped him from proceeding towards Kannauj, where he was scheduled to lead a Kisan Yatra.

Give Us Ramlila Maidan to Protest: Farmers Ask Govt

Punjab Kisan Union’s RS Mansa sought permission for the protesting farmers to use the Ramlila Ground in Delhi, as they did not want to cause inconvenience to “anyone in Delhi or Haryana.”

“We don't want to go to Burari, give us Ramlila Ground as we don't want to trouble people of Delhi and Haryana,” he told media at Singhu (Haryana-Delhi border).

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will meet representatives from protesting farmer unions at 7 pm on Tuesday, 8 November, said Bharatiya Kisan Union Spokesperson Rakesh Tikait.“We are going to Singhu Border now and from there we will go to the Home Minister,” he added.
