PM Modi to Host Top BJP Leaders for Dinner, Likely to Discuss 2019
The dinner meeting comes just ahead of the budget, which will be presented on 1 February.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will host a dinner gathering for key BJP leaders, including his cabinet ministers, party general secretaries and state in-charges on Thursday, 11 January, at his official residence in Delhi.
The focus of the meet will be on the 2019 general elections, and the upcoming state elections in Tripura, Meghalaya and Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, reported NDTV, adding that the prime minister will also discuss the status of various government schemes at the meet.
The dinner meeting also assumes importance as it ahead of the Modi government’s last full-fledged budget, which will be presented by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on 1 February.
According to the report, the group will also be discussing the means to increase the BJP’s appeal among the “millennial voters”. The party is reportedly planning to launch a mobile application called the "Millennium Vote Campaign" on 18 January.
