1. Fadnavis Should Lead the Govt: Nitin Gadkari on Maharashtra Political Stalemate

Union minister Nitin Gadkari, while talking to media at Nagpur Airport, said that BJP has got the mandate and Fadnavis should lead the government in the state.

Gadkari said that he is hopeful that Maharashtra will have a BJP-Shiv Sena govt as the people have given mandate to them after pre-poll alliance.

He further clarified that no one else except Devendra Fadnavis will become the chief minister and lead the govt as BJP has got 105 seats in the Assembly polls, the highest among all political parties.

2. Rains Lash Mumbai, Thane

Light to heavy rains lashed parts of Mumbai on Friday, 8 November, morning. Neighbouring Thane district too witnessed rains. In Thane, Naupada has received 17mm of rain since morning whereas Vartak Nagar has received 18mm of rain so far.

Earlier IMD had predicted that Madhya Maharashtra, Thane and Palghar districts will receive light to moderate showers due to Cyclone Maha hovering in the Arabian sea.

3. Maharashtra Tops in Justice Delivery

Maharashtra has topped the list of 18 large-medium states in the overall first-ever ranking of Indian states on justice delivery, followed by Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Punjab and Haryana. In this category, Jharkhand, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh are at the bottom, while among the list of seven smaller States, Goa leads the group.

This is according to the India Justice Report 2019, released on Thursday by the Tata Trusts in collaboration with Centre for Social Justice, Common Cause, and Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative, among others.

5. 2-Month-Old Suffers Burns After Fire At Mumbai Hospital, Says Father

A two-and-a-half-month old baby sustained grave burn injuries after a fire broke out at a Mumbai hospital early on Thursday, 7 November, his father has alleged.

The boy, Prince Rajbhar sustained burn injuries when a fire broke out at the Children Ward of KEM Hospital, where he was admitted for a heart ailment. The boy has been put on life-support at the hospital and his condition is stated to be serious.

However, other children admitted to the ward were reported to be safe. The infant's father said Prince was admitted to hospital on Tuesday.
