No Representation for TN in Cabinet Due to AIADMK Tussle: Reports

Tamil Nadu has not seen any representation in the newly-formed cabinet of the NDA’s second term.

Tamil Nadu, where the BJP-led NDA won only one seat has not seen any representation in the newly-formed cabinet of the NDA’s second term. This, according to reports, will be the first time there will be no minister in the central government from the south Indian state.

AIADMK became the only ally of the BJP that was left out of the new council of ministers. Reports suggest that its either the ongoing tussle between CM E Palaniswami and his deputy O Panneerselvam.

Till Thursday, 30 May afternoon, there were rumours and reports doing the rounds that Dy CM Panneerselvam’s son Raveendranath, the only NDA winner in the state, will be given a ministerial post.

However, the Chief Minister EPS’s camp, according to an NDTV report was backing R Vaithalingam for the cabinet. R Vaithilingam has been a three-time legislator and a former Rajya Sabha MP. According to the report, he was a close aide of J Jayalalithaa.

A CNN News18 report also said that the internal rift between the two AIADMK camps has made the party miss the bus all over again.

This will be the first time there will be no MP from Tamil Nadu in the central government, according to he CNN News18 Report.
