Lok Janshakti Party's (LJP) new Chief Chirag Paswan expressed the need for an NDA coordination committee during a meeting of the alliance on Sunday, 17 November. He also demanded a convener for the ruling coalition, news agency IANS reported.

Paswan Junior, speaking to the reporters after the meeting said the absence of the Shiv Sena was "felt" on Sunday's meeting as it was one of the oldest NDA members.

"There should be better coordination among allies and an NDA convener should be appointed," he said.

“It’s a matter of concern that the Telugu Desam Party left the alliance first and then the Rashtriya Lok Samata Party did. But all of us (allies) will work together in the upcoming session and more such meetings should happen,” said Paswan

The suggestion assumes significance in light of the Shiv Sena exiting from the NDA and the All Jharkhand Students Union deciding to go separate ways in the lead up to Jharkhand Assembly elections.

Meanwhile, the 18 Sena MPs in Lok Sabha and three in Rajya Sabha have now been allotted seats in the opposition rows after the party severed ties with its longtime ally BJP and is in talks with the Congress-NCP alliance to form government in Maharashtra.
