The BJP has decided to join the government of the recently-elected Chief Minister Pema Khandu in Arunachal Pradesh.

Tamiyo Taga, BJP leader in the state assembly, will soon be inducted in the Khandu cabinet, the state party chief said on Friday.

Member of the People's Party of Arunachal (PPAP), Khandu was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh on 17 July.

With Taga in the Arunachal cabinet, it is set to become the 14th state in the list of state governments with the BJP’s presence, if not dominance.

Khandu has 43 members in the 60-member Assembly. The PPA, a part of North East Democratic Alliance, is a part of NDA.

Khan had abandoned the Congress in Arunachal and took 42 MLA with him, leaving the party with only 11 members in the Assembly.
