Former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and social activist, Anjali Damania claimed she had received threatening phone calls on Saturday, telling her to withdraw cases against BJP MLA and former Maharashtra Finance Minister, Eknath Khadse. On truecaller, the number flashed as ‘Dawood 2’ and traced back to Pakistan.

Damania took to Twitter to voice her concern and appealed to the Prime Minister to take action.

Damania called a press conference in Mumbai on Saturday.

She said she had informed Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and that the police was investigating.

The Vakola Police had earlier booked Khadse for alleged “obscene remarks” he made against Damania in a public speech. She was reportedly informed about his remarks on her by an associate, after which she asked for an FIR to be filed by the police.

In addition, Damania also levelled allegations against him with regard to an irrigation project. She alleged that the senior state BJP leader, when he was a minister in the Shiv Sena-BJP government in the late 90s, had conceived the Tapi Irrigation Development Corporation, and awarded contracts to his relatives and supporters.

Khadse had resigned from his post in June 2016 after allegations of corruption and land grabbing in Pune.
