An Ola cab driver was arrested on Tuesday for misbehaving with a female passenger in Hyderabad. The 22-year old driver Shiva Kumar took an incorrect route, The Times of India reported.
Kumar is a resident of Vanasthalipuram and has been booked by the Rachakonda police under IPC Section 354 ( Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty).
According to the victim’s complaint, she booked a shared cab from Gowliboddy and Lingampally railway, and two other persons were already present in the cab when she got in. After the two persons got off, the driver started to misbehave with her.
Cab driver started to stare at the victim and forced her to share her phone number. Later, he misbehaved with the victim while travelling and also diverted the route course by taking the PVNR expressway which connects to Shamshabad.Rachakonda Police Press Release
After realising a security threat, the victim shouted for help which possibly scared the driver and he dropped her near Aramgarh. The victim then took an auto to Vanasthalipuram.
The victim shared the cab and driver’s number with the police who traced and arrested him. Kumar has been sent to judicial custody.
