During his first ever solo press conference since having assumed office, US President Donald Trump was called out on his claim that he had registered the biggest electoral college victory in American history.

At the conference, Trump bragged that he won 306 electoral college votes, the largest margin since Ronald Reagan in 1984. However, NBC reporter Peter Alexander was quick to correct him and reminded the POTUS about the electoral college numbers of both George HW Bush and Barack Obama.

In response, Trump said that his team had given him the information about the win.

“Why should Americans trust you? You accuse the information they receive of being fake when you’re providing information that’s not accurate?” the scribe pushed.

But Trump refused to budge from his stance. “I was given that information... it was a substantial margin,” he said.
