A Million People Expected at Washington on Trump’s Swearing-in

More than 50 lawmakers are planning to boycott Friday’s inauguration day, two days before Donald Trump takes office, as President.

Additionally, Washington will turn into a virtual fortress ahead of Donald Trump's presidential inauguration on Friday, as the US capital braces for more than a quarter-million protesters expected during the Republican's swearing-in.

Police have forecast that some 900,000 people, both supporters and opponents, will flood Washington for the inauguration ceremony, which includes the swearing-in on the steps of the US Capitol and a parade to the White House along streets thronged with onlookers.

But Trump, for his part, is confident about his capabilities.

I have had a lot of briefings that are very…I don’t want to say ‘scary’ because I’ll solve the problems, but we have some big enemies out there in this country […] very big and, in some cases, strong enemies.
