Statues of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his mother Heeraben Modi will soon be exhibited at the wax museum in Jaipur. An artist from West Bengal, Sushanta Roy, has made these figures for the museum which is run on a PPP (Public-private partnership) basis.
It took the artist over two months to prepare the statues. Roy admits that he always wished to make Modi’s wax model. The relationship Modi shares with his mother was reason enough for Roy’s creation.
I have made this wax idol without meeting Modi, ever.
Roy has been assigned to make 15 more
models for the same museum. Earlier he had made wax idols of current President Pranab Mukherjee and former president late APJ Abdul Kalam, cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav
Ganguly, Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan, West Bengal’s current and former chief ministers Mamata
Banerjee and Jyoti Basu respectively.
