Here's a tale of two Indias – where Kafeel Khan is penalised and Yati Narsinghanand is a free man.

At the peak of nationwide demonstrations against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, Kafeel Khan, addressing protesters in Aligarh in December 2019, said:

"I appeal to all my brothers and sisters of India, who believe in a united and prosperous India, to oppose this draconian law. I don't just appeal to Muslims but to every Indian to come forward. Citizenship cannot be on the basis of religion. This is not what our Constitution says. This is a fight for our existence. We have to fight for it. But, by fight, I do not mean a physical fight. We need to fight democratically."

In a recent conclave in Haridwar in December 2021, repeat offender Yati Narsinghanand said:

"We do not need swords to kill Muslims. Because they won't die if attacked with swords. They have better weapons. So, you need better techniques."
Yati Narsinghanand
Kafeel Khan, who spoke of a democratic fight against a draconian law and a united India, was jailed under NSA (National Security Act). Yati Narsinghanand who repeatedly spreads hate against Muslims, makes vile remarks about Muslim women, talks about killing India's Muslims and incites Hindus to take up arms against them, is a free man.

Why is Narsinghanand Not in Prison?: 5 Big Questions

  1. Following massive outrage over the Haridwar conclave and call for action, Uttarakhand DGP said the conclave did not lead to any killings or purchase of arms, so there is no need for slapping UAPA charges against the speakers. We ask the DGP, are we waiting for communal violence and killings for action to be taken?

  2. At the conclave, Maa Annapurna said, "If you want to finish them (Muslims), then kill them. If our army of 100 can kill their 20 lakh, I will consider that a victory and I'm ready to go to jail for that." We ask, why still no action against her for inciting killing of lakhs of Indian Muslims?

  3. Days after the conclave, a video surfaced showing five speakers from the conclave, approaching a policeman to file a complaint against Maulvis in Haridwar. Maa Annapurna asked the police personnel to carry out an unbiased probe. Narsinghanand then said that the policeman is biased, but towards them. They all started laughing and the police personnel also smiled, nodding silently. We ask, despite the speakers being summoned, why was no action taken against the speakers, when they themselves walked up to the police?

  4. To the Uttarakhand police, we ask, despite video evidence of inciting communal hatred and violence, why no arrests made yet?

  5. To the politicians we ask, why is Yati Narsinghanand still not in jail, despite repeatedly inciting Hindus to kill Muslims. Why is he being shielded?

If netas continue to remain silent about Narsinghanand's repeated hate speeches and the police take no action against him, we'll be forced to ask, 'Janab, Aise Kaise?'
