Moshe Holtzberg, the Israeli child who as a toddler survived the 2008 terror attack at a Jewish centre in Mumbai, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu.
Reading out a message for Modi, in Hindi, Moshe said, “Namaste to the PM of Hindustan. Aapka swagat hai humari country may. (Greetings to the PM of India. You are welcome to our country).”
Moshe was two years old when his nanny, Sandra Samuel, grabbed him and escaped from Chabad House in south Mumbai, where his parents, Rabbi Gabriel and Rivkah Holtzberg were killed by terrorists.
In his message he also asked the prime minister and the country to “love him” and remember his parents always.
While Modi promised Moshe a long-term Indian visa, Israel PM Netanyahu asked Moshe to visit India along with him.
Moshe is now living with his grandparents in Afula, Israel.
