A grieving mother of eight pups breathed her last on Tuesday. Ammu’s eight pups were killed right in front of her eyes when a women allegedly flung her 15-day-old puppies against boulders.

The accused wanted to “teach the dog a lesson.”

Well, lesson learned. We humans are not civilised enough to share this world with other creatures, especially dogs.

No, this is not an overreaction by any means. Just a few days ago, another dog Bhadra, was tossed off a roof like a frisbee. Luckily, she managed to survive.

But the three puppies who were roaming around Green Park metro station in Delhi were not so lucky. They were brutally murdered by a man, and the gruesome act was recorded on a CCTV camera near the exit of the metro station.

There are countless more examples of dogs being repeatedly tortured by people across the country and it’s the strays that suffer the most. The reason may be that India does not have stricter laws when it comes to animal care.

Animal rights activists have been repeatedly seeking stronger laws for protection of animals. Until then, ‘it’s a dog’s life’ for canines in India.
