Fatehpur SP Rahul Raj told TIE that arguments started when revenue officials were called to measure disputed land on Sunday evening. TIE reported quoting SP Raj that while Hindus claimed the land was a shelter for their animals, Muslims said the land was a cemetery. According to TIE report, SP Raj couldn’t confirm which group called the revenue officials.

They started throwing stones on each other. In the ruckus, someone opened fire. A bullet hit Ram Narayan Yadav and he died. His brother Ram Singh too was hit by a brick. Irked over it, some Hindus set four motorcycles ablaze.
SP Raj told The Indian Express.
