The gun battle that erupted on Tuesday night between security forces and suspected terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama continues.
Two militants have been killed so far. Unconfirmed reports suggest that there is a group of terrorists.
The terrorists, holed up in a house in Pulwama’s Naina Batpora, are believed to belong to the Hizbul Mujahideen. Security troops comprising 53 Rashtriya Rifles and the local police have cordoned off the Naina Batapora village.
Several worshippers are said to be trapped inside a mosque, where they were listening to a sermon, when the gunfight suddenly started, reports DNA.
The encounter was stopped last night but resumed on Wednesday at 6:30 am.
The Army, Special Operations Group of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the CRPF are also involved in the operation.
