Boy Trapped in 200-Feet Borewell Rescued After 16 Hour Operation

The son of a road construction worker was trapped in a 200-feet borewell at a village in Pune’s Ambegaon tehsil.

A six-year-old boy, who was trapped in a 200-feet borewell on Wednesday, 20 February, at a village in Pune’s Ambegaon tehsil, was rescued in an operation that lasted 16 hours.

The boy, Ravi Pandit Bhill, was stuck at a depth of 10 feet in the borewell in Thorandale village, according to the NDRF.

Police said the incident took place around 4.45 pm on Wednesday, when Ravi was playing near an open borewell while his father, a labourer, was busy in the road construction work.
