16 Injured in Grenade Attack in J&K’s Shopian

At least 16 people, including four policemen, were injured in a grenade attack in Batapora Chowk, Shopian district, on Monday, 4 June, reported PTI.

The Times of India report said that the injured have been shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

According to The Times of India, the target was a police party stationed in the busy market area. The grenades missed the target, exploding on the roadside, injuring several.

Police officials have said the area has been cordoned off and searches are underway in order to capture the attackers, PTI reported.

Militants have carried out a series of grenade attacks on security forces and politicians since last week.
