1. Woman Raped on Pretext of Marriage

A 21-year-old woman has alleged that she was raped for a year on the pretext of marriage by a man, who also forced her to go for an abortion, in outer Delhi's Aman Vihar area, police said today. The victim registered a case yesterday against Sonu (27) following a fight with his mother at his house, they said.

The woman called the police after the fight and lodged a complaint, police said. The victim joined Sonu's laboratory last year and an affair started between them. Sonu allegedly promised that he would marry her, police said. She alleged that he forced her to go for an abortion.

2. Nine-Year-Old Twin Sisters Raped by Man, His Minor Son in Hyderabad

A man and his minor son allegedly raped nine-year-old twin sisters in Mailardevpally area, according to the police. Jaffar and his 16-year-old son, who are neighbours of the minor girls, allegedly raped them repeatedly over the past one year. A family member of the victims also helped the duo in the offence, a police officer from Mailardevpally Police Station said, quoting from a complaint.

The sisters revealed the alleged sexual assaults to a senior family member, who approached a city-based NGO working for child rights, which in turn lodged a police complaint.

3. Drug Addict Arrested for Sexually Assaulting Minor in Mumbai

The Shivaji Nagar police arrested a 23-year-old drug addict for allegedly sexually assaulting a four-year-old girl from the same neighbourhood on Thursday. Officials said that the accused targeted the girl a day ago by luring her to his residence.

On Wednesday night, Sajeed Khan spotted the girl playing outside. He spoke to her and lured her to the mezzanine floor of his residence when nobody was around. After sexually assaulting the girl, he left her at the spot where he had met her. The girl then told her mother about the incident following which a complaint was lodged at the Shivaji Nagar police station.

4. Indore: Man Stabs Pregnant Wife Over 50 Times, Arrested

Suspecting infidelity, a man stabbed his pregnant wife over 50 times before fleeing from his house at Vidur Nagar in Dwarkapuri Colony area in Indore late on Tuesday night. The accused husband Santosh Patidar alias Sonu has been arrested.

City superintendent of police(CSP) Rupesh Dwivedi said victim Roshni was at first taken to the district hospital where authorities recommended transferring her to the intensive care unit of Maharaja Yeshwantrao (MY) Hospital.

Doctors there could not save her as she had lost excessive blood and the foetus too had been killed.

5. Wife Commits Suicide After Fight in Jharkhand

A 42-year-old homemaker, who had been married for 22 years with two grown-up sons, committed suicide by hanging herself at her house in Jamshedpur's Mango area on Wednesday night after a fight with her husband.

Police on Thursday detained Sanjay Kumar Singh (48), a Tata Steel employee, after his wife Meena's father lodged an FIR with Mango thana. In the FIR, Dilip Bhushan, who lives at Govindpur on the fringes of the steel city, alleged that Singh had tortured his daughter, which drove her to end her life.

The suicide was detected by the couple's elder son Sonu, an apprentice at Tata Steel, when he returned home around 10pm.

6. Rape Charge Against News Channel Executive in Noida

The editor-in-chief of Hindi news channel Sudarshan News is facing charges of rape and criminal intimidation after an FIR was registered in Noida, following a complaint by a 36-year-old woman employee of the company, police said. Narayan Sai, son of self-styled godman Asaram Bapu, has also been named in the FIR.

The complaint was received by Gautam Budh Nagar district police a few days ago, following which a probe was conducted, police said.

We received a complaint around 15 days ago and the charges were probed. After initial inquiry, an FIR was registered yesterday on the basis of the complaint at the women police station. The inquiry is still being carried out.

7. Pune: 46-Yr-Old Man Rapes Minor Twice, Arrested

The Pune City Police have arrested a 46-year-old man for allegedly raping a five-year-old girl twice in Chikhli area last month. Police have identified the suspect as Appa Uddhav Lamkhane Patil, a resident of Shelar Vasti in Chikhli.

The incident took place on 18 and 19 October. The mother of the victim had initially lodged a complaint in this case with Dehu Road police station. But the case was later transferred to Nigdi police station for an investigation. Police said Appa lured the girl on the pretext of giving her milk and food around 8 pm on October 18.

8. Two Arrested for Molesting Woman in Oshiwara

The Oshiwara police have arrested two persons for allegedly molesting a 20-year-old woman in Anand Nagar area Wednesday night. The police said the woman, who worked as a domestic help in the locality, claimed to have been “touched inappropriately” by the two.

The complainant had gone to fill water at a chawl in Anand Nagar where the two accused reside. The incident took place there.

The police took the accused, aged 18 and 37, to Andheri court Thursday, seeking their custody, but both were granted bail. “They will be called for investigation,” said the officer.

9. Three Men Arrested for Attacking Two Cops, Vandalising Chowky in Thane

Three people were arrested for allegedly attacking two police personnel, attached to Wagle Estate police station, and vandalising a chowki in Thane.

One of the victims was grievously injured in the attack. The accused are from the same family and were identified as Santosh Kadam, 38, Dinesh Kadam, 40, and Sunil Kadam,43 — all residents of Hajuri village in Wagle Estate.

The incident occurred on Monday afternoon when the women from the Kadam family had an argument with their neighbours, who called the police after being attacked and abused by the accused, the police said.
