1. Gang War Erupts Again in Tihar, Two Killed

Two inmates were killed and at least six others injured as the simmering gang war within Tihar jail erupted yet again on Wednesday afternoon. The deceased belonged to rival gangs and have been identified as Ishwar Sippy and Anil Chaudhary.

2. Ghajini Actor Molests Wife, Arrested

Khalid Siddiqui, a popular TV and film actor, has been arrested on Wednesday by Mumbai Police on charges of molesting his wife Rahaat.

She alleged that Siddiqui had also tried to strangle her. After his arrest, Siddiqui was granted bail. They have been living separately for the last two years.

3. Man Held at Metro Station, Live Bullets Recovered

A man was arrested on Wednesday at a Delhi Metro station for allegedly carrying three live bullets in his bag. The person, who was identified as Gaurav Pandey, is a resident of Uttar Pradesh.

4. Nido Tania Murder: Two Minor Offenders Released

Two minor offenders, accused for attacking 19-year-old Arunachal Pradesh student Nido Tania, were released and were sent on one-year probation by a Juvenile Justice Board on Wednesday.

During the probation period, the board will monitor their conduct. Nido died on January 30, 2014 a day after being beaten up by several shopkeepers in South Delhi.

5. Three Cabbies Sodomise 2 BPO Male Employees, Driver

Two BPO employees and their van driver were sexually assaulted in Bangalore, just days after a 22-year-old woman BPO employee was gang-raped in the city. Three drunken private cab drivers sodomised and robbed the survivors on September 30.

All three accused have been now been arrested.

6. Mentally Disabled Girl Gang-raped, Two Arrested

A 15-year-old mentally disabled girl in Delhi was allegedly gang-raped by two neighbours on Tuesday.

The accused, who the police say are history-sheeters, are in custody. A case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was filed against them.

7. Juvenile Kills Friend for Befriending Female Friend

A 15-year-old boy was beaten to death by his teenage friend in South Delhi. The deceased, Anand, was missing from October 4. Anand had angered his friend by befriending the latter’s female friend.

The incident came to the fore on Monday. The accused has been sent to a juvenile home.

8. Tamil Nadu Cop Held for Minor’s Rape, Three Others Arrested

A sub-inspector of Sivaganga (Tamil Nadu) and three others were arrested on Wednesday for raping a minor girl. The 17-year-old girl said that the cops tried to stall the investigation to guard their colleague.

This is not the first time the girl has undergone the trauma of sexual assault. She has been raped by several other men including her father, brother and grandfather and has had to undergo two abortions as a result.

9. CPM Man Murdered, Father Accuses Police Of Pressurizing

The battered body of a CPM’s polling agent was found on the tracks near a railway station in Kolkata on Monday morning. The victim’s father alleged that the police had tried to coerce him into writing a letter to say that “the death was caused due to an accident”.

Prima facie, the death seemed to have been caused by a massive internal haemorrhage resulting from the injuries. Police have not ruled out the possibility of a suicide or an accident.
