QCrime: Teacher Held For Selling Exam Answers, Minor Found Dead

1. Teachers Caught Selling Exam Answers After Call by Student

The Anti-Corruption Board of Delhi has arrested five teachers who were caught red handed selling exam answers to students in exchange of money. According to an Indian Express report, the matter came to light when one of the students reported the issue on the Anti-Corruption helpline 1031 set-up by AAP Govt and informed them about the alleged racket. Following this a trap was laid to ascertain the veracity of the claim made by the students which later turned out to be real.

The Teachers were caught red-handed while accepting the bribes. They were encouraging student of class XI and XII to cheat in the final exams of the open school. The bribes varied between Rs 20,000 and above from each student,” said an official.

An FIR has been registered against the five teachers. The ACB has so far arrested one teachers while the remaining are being questioned.

2. Minor Found Dead, Police Suspect Rape-Murder

A 13-year-old girl who had gone missing has been found dead in Allahabad’s Genuva, reports the Indian Express. Police suspect that the girl was raped and murdered and that there could be more than one person involved in the crime. The girl had reportedly gone to collect some cow dung near her house. When the girl didn’t return, villagers started searching for her only to find her body.

Police have registered a case or murder and are awaiting the post-mortem report to confirm if the victim was raped.

3. Denied Parole, Man Kills Self In Prison

A convict in an assault case allegedly committed suicide inside the Puzhal Central Prison in Chennai after he was denied parole. The Times of India reports that the convict, identified as Jayakumar, hanged himself from the bars of the prison cell. Police say that the man was granted parole on February 22 which he jumped.

Police arrested Jayakumar from his hideout in the city on march 26 and jailed him. On Tuesday morning, he met prison superintendent and sought parole as his family was in debt. However, the superintendent rejected his request citing the prisoner’s recent escape from parole. Following this, Jayakumar ended his life’ Police

4. Father, Daughter Found Murdered

The bodies of a 55-year-old man and his 27-year-old daughter were recovered from their residence in West Bengal’s North 24-Parganas. According to The Times of India, both the bodies born injury marks, while girls body was reportedly lying unclothed. Police are yet to ascertain the motive behind the twin murder.

Several cut marks were found on the bodies, including a deep injury make around woman’s neck. We suspect that thud were murdered. But we are also investigating if the father killed his daughter before committing suicide. Both the bodies have been sent for autopsy.

5. Two Gambling Dens in Mumbai Raided, 300 Held

Around 300 people have been arrested in Mumbai’s Naupada for their involvement in gambling. The arrested include those who came to gamble from cities such as Hyderabad, Surat, Allahabad, Jalgaon and Thane, says a report on Hindustan Times. Thane police have registered cases against all the accused. The accused were even arrested before being released on bail.
