1. Superintendent of Children’s Home Held for Raping Wards in Delhi
Delhi Police have arrested the superintendent of a children’s home in southeast Delhi’s Lajpat Nagar for allegedly raping three minor girls who lived there, PTI reports. Police said the accused — 45-year-old RS Meena — had been sacked on 3 June following a complaint from the minor girls.
The issue came to the fore after Delhi Women and Child Welfare Minister Sandeep Kumar visited the home on 3 June and met the girls, who allegedly complained to him about the incident. He had later ordered an inquiry.
Police said they received a complaint on 3 June from the district women and child development officer, accusing Meena of sexual assault which had allegedly taken place in the children’s home on 2 June.

2. Indian National Among Four Accused of Rs 110-Crore Cheating Case
Palagarh (Maharashtra) police have registered a case against four persons including an Indian national working with a diamond firm in Hong Kong for cheating the firm to the tune of Rs 110 crore.
The complainant was a diamond merchant who conducts his business through Simi Diam China, according to a PTI report.
The accused – one of who hailed from Virar while the others were foreign nationals – worked at the Shanghai office of the company.

3. Man Kills 9-Month Pregnant Wife in Hyderabad, on the Run
A nine-month pregnant woman was killed by her husband at their house in Hyderabad on Wednesday, according to a Times of India report.
The victim has been identified as Laxmi, 21, a daily-wage worker. Six days ago, she and her husband, Venkatesh, also a daily-wage worker, had moved into a single room house at Lalapet.
A group of neighbours peeped inside their house after finding it latched the whole day. Inside they found Laxmi lying dead on the floor. There was a superficial cut across her throat.
Police registered a case under Section 302 (Murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and launched a manhunt to nab the culprit, who is on the run.
4. Techie Held for Sexual Assault of Infant Step-Daughter
A 41-year-old software engineer from Kerala was arrested for sexually assaulting his three-and-a-half-year-old stepdaughter, in Bangalore, according to a report by Bangalore Mirror.
The child’s mother had recently married the man and became suspicious after the child’s constant crying. She later found bruises and swelling on her private parts.
5. Police Bust Sex Racket, Rescue Three TV Actresses in Mumbai
The social service branch of the Mumbai police have busted a prostitution racket involving three small-time TV actresses.
The arrest was made after the police set up a trap for the pimps in a mall.
The women have been rescued and the pimps have been arrested under Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act.

6. High Beam of a Car Results in Death in Bangalore
A man was stabbed to death in Bangalore over a brawl culminating from a high beam light of a car, according to a Bangalore Mirror report.
The victim, Jayasurya, chased the car for around 150 km after the passengers hurled abuses at him over the blinding light of his car. The men stopped to check why their car was being chased, and got into an argument with Jayasurya.
In the clash that followed, one of the men allegedly stabbed Jayasurya in the chest, after which he died on the spot.
7. Men Claiming to be Police Snatch Bag Containing Rs 33 Lakh
Two men posing as police officers today snatched a bag containing Rs 33 lakh from employees of a fish trader in Ghazipur area of East Delhi.
Police said that a cashier of a fish trader in Ghazipur Mandi, alongwith another employee was going to Chandni Chowk to make payment of Rs 33 lakh when the money was stolen from them by two men claiming to be sleuths of Crime Branch.
The cashier Gopal and Yashwpal were riding in an auto to Chandni Chowk when it was overtaken and stopped by a car.

8. Body Found in Ghaziabad Tracks, Honour Killing Suspected
Two days after a Rajasthan couple eloped to Delhi, the body of the man was found on a railway track in Ghaziabad’s Vijay Vihar.
According to a report in The Times of India, the incident was first registered as a suicide and later changed to a murder case after the man’s family alleged that there were injuries on the body caused by a sharp object.
On 2 May, the girl’s uncle reached Uttam Nagar along with some men and asked the couple to return to their village in Rajasthan to get married. Family members said the man went missing a day later and his body was found along the tracks in Ghaziabad.
9. Student Beat to Death Over Suspected Mango Theft in Bengal
A first-year college student was beaten to death by locals on suspicion that he stole mangoes from an orchard.
The incident took place at the Haridevpur area on the southern fringes of Kolkata on 2 June, according to a Hindustan Times report.
Aniruddho Biswas, 19, died due of his injuries on 8 June.
