1. Two Held for Cheating Family, Which Later Commits Suicide
Two people were arrested for cheating several people including a Chhattisgarh resident, who later committed suicide in 2014 along with his wife and son due to shock and fear, police said on Tuesday.
Surjeet Singh, 30, and Sushant Basak, 27, both residents of Delhi, were arrested on Friday near north Delhi’s Kashmere Gate bus stand, the police said.
According to the police, the accused had cheated Manish Jaiswal of Rs 12 lakh on the assurance of granting him a loan of Rs 25 lakh from their Delhi-based “Citizen Finance Company” in 2014.
2. Man Arrested for Concocting Phony Armed Robbery Story
A resident of New Vishnupuri who claimed to be a victim of an armed robbery has been arrested after he confessed that the whole incident was a lie, according to the local police.
Mani Maria had contacted the police control room on 10 July, informing that he had been robbed by four motorcycle-miscreants. He had alleged that the miscreants had threatened him with a sharp-edged weapon and robbed him of Rs 4500.
The police immediately reached the spot and investigated into the matter. Maria also claimed that he had suffered injuries on his neck and arm in the incident.

3. Man Arrested For Beheading Wife’s Ex-Husband
A man has been arrested for beheading his wife’s ex-husband, whom he suspected of keeping contact with her even after their divorce, police said.
The accused, Mukesh, 35, who is a cab driver in Gurgaon and lives in Mangolpuri area was suspicious of his wife Priyanka frequently meeting her ex-husband Rohit.
He allegedly hatched a plan along with Priyanka’s juvenile brother to get rid of Rohit, said Vikramjit Singh, DCP (outer).
Acting on a missing complaint filed by Rohit’s father Ashok Kumar on 6 September, police caught Mukesh and and his brother-in-law and they confessed to their involvement in his disappearance and murder, said the officer.
4. Mentally-Ill Man Beaten to Death by ‘Priest’, Transgender
A 25-year-old man, allegedly suffering from mental illness was allegedly killed after he was thrashed by three persons, including a “priest”, who claimed to be able to treat him through black magic and witchcraft, police said on Wednesday.
The incident took place in the wee hours on Tuesday when Santosh Suryavanshi was taken to a priest, who claimed that he is a healer and will treat the victim with black magic, near a temple in Ulhasnagar, Thane Police PRO Sukhada Narkar said.
The man was subjected to torture by the priest, his son, and a transgender. They all beat him severely with sticks, rods, belt on the pretext of getting evil spirits out of him after keeping him captive for hours. He died on the spot.Sukhada Narkar, PRO, Thane Police

5. Four Youngsters Try to Drown Cop During Ganesh Immersion
A shocking video of a policeman being pushed into a lake and four youth of a local Ganesh Utsav mandal trying to drown him in Kalyan townwhip has gone viral. The youth had earlier objected to being disciplined by the policeman Niteen Dondu Dagale.
On the occasion of immersion of the Ganpati idols last evening, sub-inspector Dagale, attached to Kolsewadi Police Station in Kalyan, was on bandobust duty at Teesgaon Talao of the town.
He was controlling the crowd assembled for the immersion and was disciplining the members of various mandals. The members of the Jari Mari Ganesh Utsav mandal were also asked to follow queue system. However, some youth of the mandal objected to being disciplined and picked up a quarrel with Dagale.
6. 59-Year-Old Rajasthan Engineer Arrested for Raping Minor
A 59-year-old Rajasthan government engineer posted at Jodhpur House who was accused of raping a minor girl at his official residence was arrested on Wednesday, police said.
SN Mahipal was arrested from his residence, a senior police officer said. The 13-year-old victim, hailing from Jharkhand was working at Mahipal’s residence, situated behind Jodhpur House, and alleged that he raped her on Monday evening.
The victim narrated the whole incident to her cousin. Later, she was taken to Tughlaq Road police station by her brother to file a case against the accused.

7. Dengue Patient Accuses Doctor, Ward Boy of Rape in Gujarat
A dengue patient on Wednesday lodged a complaint of rape against a doctor and a ward boy of a prominent hospital in Gandhinagar where she is currently undergoing treatment.
According to Gandhinagar SP Virendra Yadav, the woman, who is admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU), is suffering from severe dengue and cannot “talk much”. The SP said the accused have been identified.
An FIR has been filed after the complaint was registered with Adalaj police.

8. 10-Year-Old Girl Raped, Murdered; Accused Arrested
Hyderabad City Police arrested a man, who had allegedly raped and murdered a 10-year-old girl at Bollarum area in Hyderabad.
31-year-old Chintakindi Anil, who had come out of Sanga Reddy jail on 1 July after serving a one-year term, had allegedly committed the crime two days ago, police said in a statement.
The accused was arrested near Bollarum railway station.
9. One-Year-Old Girl Allegedly Raped By Youth In Hyderabad
In a shocking incident, a one-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a youth who worked with her parents at their house in Chilkalguda area, police said.
The accused, Deepu Singh, 20, took the baby girl from the second floor of the house where she was sleeping with her parents, to the ground floor and allegedly raped her at around midnight on Tuesday, Chilkalguda Police Station Inspector K Srinivasulu said based on a complaint lodged by her parents.
“Deepu Singh took the baby girl from her parents who were in deep sleep and allegedly committed rape,” Srinivasulu told.
