QCrime: Man Kills Wife, Daughters; Madrasa Boy Sodomised

1. Man Kills Wife, 2 Minor Daughters, Later Surrenders to Police in Odisha
A man, on Tuesday, killed his wife and two minor daughters at Petapalli village under Odagaon police station limits in Odisha’s Nayagarh district, the police said.
The accused, Bhagirathi Nayak, surrendered before the police after strangulating his wife Pratima and two daughters at a school, said SDPO Sarankul TK Reddy.
While Nayak claimed family dispute as the reason behind the killing, Reddy said police have been investigating the case.
Police said Nayak and Pratima had a love marriage. While the elder daughter was from Pratima’s earlier marriage, Nayak was father of a five-month old girl.
2. Punjab: Christian Woman Murdered for ‘Desecration’ of Guru Granth Sahib
A 55-year-old Christian woman was hacked to death outside her house in Veroke village in Punjab on Sunday, over alleged desecration of the Guru Granth Sahib.
The deceased has been identified as Balwinder Kaur, who was mentally retarded at the time of the murder. She had, in 2015, suffered an accidental electrical shock that resulted in her sickness.
According to reports, some men knocked on the door of the woman’s house around 12:30 am, dragged her out of the house and repeatedly attacked her with a sickle. They inflicted severe injuries on her body and left her bleeding near her house, said Harkamal Preet Singh Khakh, the Senior Superintendent of Police, Amritsar, Rural.
Kaur died four hours after the attack due to excessive bleeding.
3. Stolen and Sold, Toddler Reunited with Parents
Stolen from his parents and sold twice, a 13-month-old boy born to a couple in Ghaziabad ended up in the house in Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar, as the ‘son’ of a bakery owner and his wife.
The primary conduit in this operation was a doctor, Anita Vij, who bought the boy from what police suspect is a gang of baby snatchers for Rs 70,000. Vij then had sold the boy to the childless Delhi couple for Rs 3 lakh, police said.
A Ghaziabad police team found little Yash in bakery owner Paras Jain’s house in Laxmi Nagar in the early hours of Monday after it arrested Vij, 40 km from her flat in Patparganj’s Karishma Apartments on Sunday night. Vij had led the police to Jain. Police suspect Vij is a qualified doctor.
4. Police Arrest Three for Murder in Dombivli, Mumbai
The Manpada police has arrested three men in connection with the murder of the businessman, who was found in his car with his throat slit in Dombivli on 9 September.
One of the accused, Jaideep Rasal, 34, is the cousin of the victim. The cops also arrested Parsuram Patil, 80, and Jaideep’s friend Chandu Gaikwad, 32.
Satish Rasal, 42, a resident of Nilje Gaon Dombivli (East), was found murdered with his throat slit in his car at Dombivli. A rickshaw driver first saw the deceased and intimated the family members.
Officials believe that betrayal and black magic led to the murder.
5. Woman Murdered on the Outskirts of Dehradun
A woman, said to be in her mid-30s, was allegedly murdered by an unidentified person in the jungle area of Mohabbewala on the outskirts of Dehradun.
While the murderer managed to escape, the police team found a bag containing acid and kerosene, using which he intended to damage the body in a manner so that it could not be identified.
SSP Dehradun Sadanand Date told The Times of India, “A group of minors playing football in the area had heard some cries.”
The group of boys went to the spot to find a woman lying on the ground. Spotting the minors, the assailant escaped from the spot, leaving behind his bi-cycle, a bag containing kerosene oil, acid and shirt which he had used to strangle the woman.
6. Madrasa Boy Sodomised by Teacher in Hyderabad
A 15-year-old boy studying in a Madrasa in Chandrayanagutta, was allegedly sodomised by his teacher. The teacher, Mohammed Rayees, took the boy out for sightseeing and sodomised him. The incident came out when the boy fell ill and told his parents.
The AP Balala Hakkula Sangham demanded that the Madrasa should be closed immediately and all the students shifted to government schools.
Police said the boy, a resident of Teegalkunta, was studying Arabic at the Madina Islamiya Madrasa since the last two years. Rayees, in his late twenties, joined the Madrasa a month ago, and was teaching Arabic.
On 28 August, he called the boy and told him that he would show him the surroundings. The boy went with him for sightseeing. After going to the hillocks behind the Madrasa, Rayeem had forcibly sodomised him.
7. Two Young Men Booked for Raping Minor in Faridabad
Two youngsters have been booked allegedly for raping a 17-year-old girl after forcing her to have a drink laced with sedatives, Faridabad police said.
The accused, Yogesh and Brijesh, on Tuesday had picked up the girl in their car from the Ambedkar square in Ballabhgarh, they said.
The girl was then forced to have spiked juice, after which she lost consciousness and then the youths allegedly took turns to rape her at a house near Sector 12 town park, a police spokesperson said.
The accused later abandoned her at Ballabhgarh from where she reached her home and narrated the incident to her parents.
8. 26-Year-Old Woman Gangraped in Gurgaon
A 26-year-old woman from Delhi was allegedly raped by three men in the wee hours on Sunday in Gurgaon. One of the accused picked up the victim, a resident of Munirka in Delhi, from outside the Sahara Mall on Saturday late night.
He had allegedly taken her to an accommodation in Sector 29 area, where two more people joined and raped her.
As per the complaint lodged with the cops, the victim, who had been working at Ignite pub in Sahara Mall in Gurgaon for past one year, lived with her live-in partner in Delhi. On Saturday night, after she got free from the pub she met a person, who is the prime accused in the case, and he offered to drop her home on his two-wheeler.
9. Five Indians Held in China for Drug Smuggling Could Be Sentenced to Death
Police are likely to go in for a death sentence plea in the chargesheet in the case of five Indians who were arrested on charges of smuggling drugs into China, it was learnt on Tuesday.
The five were flying in to Kunming in southwest China from Kolkata, a two-hour flight, and were arrested in two separate cases in the last two weeks at the airport. They were carrying about 24 kg of hashish, extracted from the cannabis plant widely available in India, into China.
All five have denied knowledge about the drugs that they were found to be carrying hidden in packets of signature Indian snacks and new laptop bags.
