1. Neighbour Sodomizes, Kills 8-year-old
The body of a 4th standard boy was found stuffed inside a suitcase in West Delhi’s Ranhola area. The child’s neighbour, Jal Kumar (24) has been arrested for sodomizing and strangling him.
Kumar had called the child over on pretext of buying him sweets and even gave him money to buy chocolates. After he had got himself a bar of chocolate, Kumar called the boy to his house. Police said he killed him around 4 pm when the child started crying and threatening to tell his parents about the assault. He had kept his body inside a toilet on the terrace and had been looking for an opportunity to dump it.

2. Five Held for World Cup Betting
Five men were arrested in Kolkata for running a betting racket out of a flat in the Baguiati locality. Police seized Rs. 40,000 in cash as well as 15 cellphones and two laptops.

3. Travel Agent who ‘Cheated’ Women held
Sahil Narang and his associate Vinay allegedly charged Rs 96,000 for three hotel rooms in Dubai from a group of women. When they got there, they had no place to go.
After the women returned to Delhi, they filed a case against Sahil whose office was then raided. Sahil, who reportedly made the fake bookings along with his associates, was on the run but he was traced and apprehended last week. Investigation is on to ascertain the number of people the agents have cheated so far.

4. Former Delhi MLA Bharat Singh Shot Dead
Former INLD MLA Bharat Singh was shot dead and two of his associates critically injured when unidentified persons shot at them in south-west Delhi’s Najafgarh area here this evening.

5. Cops Recover Ornaments Stolen from Shivaji Statue at Byculla Zoo
The Byculla (South Mumbai) police have arrested a 54-year-old security guard working for the Jijamata Udyan – better known as Rani Baug – for allegedly stealing some imitation jewellery from a statue of Shivaji located in the civic zoo premises. He broke off a small part of the statue that had the ornaments attached to it.
