1. Six Men Molest 23-Year-Old, Beat up Mother for Resisting

A 23-year-old woman had lodged an FIR against some men for molesting her at a nearby park when she was out for a stroll with her sister in the morning, but all of them were released on bail the same day.

On Sunday evening, when she was returning from a nearby shop, she found the men waiting for her outside her house.

When I tried to go past them, they started passing lewd remarks and hurled abuses at me. When I told them to leave, they threatened to throw acid on me and kill my entire family if I didn’t withdraw the complaint. I rushed inside and told my mother about it. After a while, the men returned with belts and rods. They dragged me out of my house and thrashed me. The men were drunk. They molested me and also grabbed my mother. They then hit us with stones.

2. 52-Year-Old Thrown off Third Floor After Argument with Neighbour

Shaherkotda police have arrested a 27-year-old youth who is accused of murdering his neighbour over a furniture dispute from Saraspur. The accused Ravindrasinh alias Ravi Dhakad allegedly threw Rajgopal Yagnik (52), a resident of Shandaliya Flats, from the third floor after the duo had an argument over furniture that the victim had put in front of his flat.

According to the police, about 15 days ago, Rajgopal had put some furniture outside his house. Ravi, who was unhappy with this, had asked Rajgopal to shift the furniture. The argument had escalated but the other residents in the flat had helped them sort out the issue, reports Ahmedabad Mirror.

3. Woman Attacked with Beer Bottle by a Group of Drunk Men

A 22-year-old journalism student and two of her friends were allegedly beaten up by a group of drunk men in south Delhi’s Greater Kailash area. The woman, who filed a police complaint, later said she was injured after one of the men attacked her with a beer bottle.

The police said the incident took place around 2.30 am when the victim was dropped at her residence in GK by her friends. She came out of her house to take her phone back, which she had left in the car. As she stepped out of her compound, the group of men standing on the balcony of an adjacent building passed lewd comments at her, cops said. When she protested, they started abusing her. This angered her friends sitting in the car. They came out of the vehicle and confronted the men. The victim alleged that the group of men came downstairs, along with a woman and started thrashing them. When she tried to resist, one of the men hit her with an empty beer bottle.

We have registered a complaint. We are also checking CCTV footage of the incident in order to ascertain the sequence of events. Efforts to track these men are underway.

4. Woman Couriers Suicide Note Before Death; Husband Arrested

Madhavi Tejas Gadani (27) was seven months pregnant when she jumped in front of a moving train near Ghuma railway station on 7 May. Before taking the extreme step, Madhavi, who was a beautician, had couriered her suicide note to her parents in which she detailed the harassment meted out to her by her husband and in-laws, the Bopal police said.

The railway cops on scene found the receipt near the body which stated that some documents had been mailed. The address mentioned was the victim’s parental home. The cops called the number on the receipt and were informed of Madhavi’s death. Her husband Tejas Gadani rushed to the spot.

5. Executive Arrested After Ramming His BMW Into an Auto

A senior executive of a liquor company was arrested on Tuesday after three people were injured when the BMW car he was driving rammed into an autorickshaw in Bengaluru. Police said the executive was allegedly under the influence of alcohol when the incident happened on Saturday night.

6. Cocaine Worth 10 Crore Seized from Female Passenger in Hyderabad

Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has seized 1.99 kg of cocaine, estimated to be worth around Rs 10 crore, from a woman passenger at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA). The cocaine has been seized under NDPS Act 1985.

Based on specific intelligence, officers of the DRI (Hyderabad Zonal Unit) intercepted one woman passenger, who arrived from Dubai by Emirates flight at RGIA.

7. Police Raid Team Attacked in Batala, 10 Booked

A gang of criminals reportedly attacked a police team at Jaurian village following which a head constable was critically injured. The injured, Gurmeet Singh, was part of the team that went to the village falling under Dera Baba Nanak police station for investigating a case when he was attacked with sharp weapons.

The police have booked 10 people under Section 307 (attempt to murder) and other sections of the IPC and the Arms Act.

8. BJP MLA’s Aide Arrested for TV Journalist’s Murder in Jharkhand

An aide of a BJP MLA has been arrested by Chatra police in connection with the murder of a local TV journalist. The police, however, said that there was no involvement of the MLA.

So far, three people have been arrested. Three others, one of whom was involved in the shooting, are absconding. We are conducting raids to arrest the remaining accused. The murder was carried out at the instance of Mukesh Ganjhu, a TPC member active in the area. Two of his accomplices were also involved in the murder. It was regarding levy being demanded from the deceased for the contract work.

Journalist Akhilesh Pratap, a native of Barachatti in Gaya district of Bihar, was shot on the night of 12 May when he was returning home. Pratap also used to take up contractual work for rural electrification.

9. Cricket Coach Held for Molesting Juvenile Trainees

Chandanagar police have arrested a 32-year-old cricket coach named Md Salam, who works at PJR stadium for allegedly molesting five boys, all of whom were his trainees.

A 16-year-old boy, being trained by Salam, had approached Chandanagar police with his parents and lodged a complaint alleging that the coach had molested him and attempted to sexually abuse him, reports The Times of India.

The complainant said that Salam had been forcing him to come alone to his room in the stadium during rest time and then attempted to sexually abuse him. Family members of four other boys, aged between 12 and 16 years, also approached the police with molestation complaints against Salam.
