1. Uttar Pradesh: 3-Yr-old Witnessed Mother’s Gangrape, Brother’s Death
A 3-year-old girl has become the prime witness in the Bareilly gangrape case which was reported on Wednesday, according to The Times of India. A 14-day-old infant on the rape survivor’s lap died after he was thrown out of the bus window by the rapists.
According to the minor, the accused duo forced the woman to drink alcohol after which she went into an inebriated state. Hence, she was unable to recall anything. The child, who hid in a corner of the bus told everything to her father and the cops. Read the full story here.
2. Jammu and Kashmir: Couple Arrested For Burning Family of Four to Death
A couple was arrested in Jammu and Kashmir for burning a family to death, reports The Indian Express. Identified as Mangta Butt and, his wife, Shamshada, the accused were distantly related to the deceased.
The deceased include four members of a family who were sleeping at the time when the fire broke out inside their house. Bad relationship between the families have been cited as the reason for this crime. Read more here.
3. Thane: Man Bites Priest’s Ear, Finger to Enter Temple on Mahashivratri
A 40-year-old man bit the ear and finger of a priest who was managing the massive crowd gathered at a Shiva temple in Thane (Mumbai) on Mahashivratri, reports Mid-day. The accused identified as Shivaji Nana Salunke, an auto driver by profession, could not take in the constant disciplining by the priest.

4. Agra: ‘Was Forced to Write Number of Wrong Car’, Claims Dead Doc’s Son
A letter addressed to the President of India by the son of the Agra doctor who was allegedly hit by one of the vehicles in Union Minister Smriti Irani’s convoy had some stunning claims, reports The Times of India.
Abhishek Nagar, in the letter, wrote that the police station-in-charge “forced” him to write the number of a “wrong car” in his complaint.
Dr Ramesh Nagar was hit on the Yamuna Expressway after which the driver fled the spot and Irani drove away to Delhi. For more, read here.
5. Mumbai: 16-Year-Old Dies Bleeding After GRP ‘Fail’ to Find Him
He fell off the train between Badlapur and Ambernath and lay there bleeding, till his family members found him after a team of Government Railway Police (GRP) called off the search, failing to locate him. By the time the family members found the 16-year-old boy he had died, reports Mumbai Mirror.

6. Ahmedabad: Three Die After Consuming Adulterated Bhang
Three people have died and more than 300 have been hospitalised in Ahmedabad after consuming adulterated ‘bhang’ on the occasion on Mahashivratri, reports NDTV.

7. Mumbai: 8-Month Hunt, Parents Nail Man Who Sodomised Their Son
Their search ran for eight months after which they were able to hunt down the man who sexually abused their 15-year-old for over two years, reports Mid-day. The boy slipped into depression after the repeated assault. After the parents took him to a counsellor, the truth came out.
The accused is a local shop owner and also a trustee at a local Jain temple. The 52-year-old has been arrested now. For more read here.
8. Andhra: Accused in Minor Girl Immolation Might Be Booked Under Nirbhaya Act
The accused in the immolation of a minor girl in Andhra Pradesh might be booked under Nirbhaya act, reports The New Indian Express. The 17-year-old was set on fire after she refused to marry one of the accused.
The accused brothers Pedda Vicky and Chinna Vicky are in custody but the arrest is not yet confirmed. The girl was set ablaze on March 5 and she died on the same day, her statement has been recorded. For more, visit here.
9. Kolkata: Woman Drags Her Alleged Molestors to Cops
A woman in Kolkata dragged two men by their collars for allegedly molesting and spewing lewd comments at her, reports The Telegraph. The men – aged 21 and 58 – work for the Tea Board of India.
The woman told the police that none of her co-passengers offered help. They, instead, asked her to “settle down” things with the accused duo. For more, read here.
