1. PM Narendra Modi Will be on a Two-day Bangladesh Visit
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Bangladesh from June 6 to further bolster bilateral ties, the Bangladesh foreign ministry said on Tuesday. He is also scheduled to visit the 12th Century Dhakeshwari Temple and deliver a public address on India-Bangladesh relations at the Bangabandhu Convention Centre on June 7.
2. Congress Vice-president Rahul Gandhi to Visit Kolkata
Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi will visit the state to address party workers. The visit is in line with the party’s decision get the national leadership visit Bengal regularly as the state will go to polls next year.
3. Dal Khalsa Calls for Bandh in Amritsar to Mark Op Blue Star
Radical Sikh outfit Dal Khalsa called for a bandh in the memory of those killed during Operation Bluestar in June 1984 in Punjab. The outfit said to mark the the Operation, a parade will also be undertaken on June 5. Security forces in Amritsar and other areas of the state have been asked to remain on alert.
4. Foundation for Andhra Pradesh Capital
The foundation stone for the new capital city of Andhra Pradesh, Amaravati, will be laid at 8:49 am on June 6 near Tullur. Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu will be inviting Prime Minister Narendra Modi to do the honours. Naidu will officially start functioning from his Vijayawada camp office from June 2 as a prelude to the ceremony.
5 . Team India Coach to be Announced
BCCI Secy Thakur Kolkata, After a closed door meeting at BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya’s residence, secretary Anurag Thakur today said that national team’s support staff including name of the Team Director, will be announced by June 6, a day before team leaves for tour of Bangladesh.
