In the wake of threats to Kashmiris across the country after the Pulwama terror attack, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh said, on Monday, 18 February, that he has asked police to ensure safety of students in the state.
He tweeted, “Kashmir is a part of us and harassment & assault of innocent Kashmiris in the wake of #PulwamaTerrorAttack is not acceptable (sic).”
He added, “Those resorting to such acts are playing into the hands of terrorists. I’ve directed @PunjabPoliceInd to ensure the safety of Kashmiris in the state.”
In the aftermath of the Pulwama attack, Singh had said on Friday, 15 February, that "enough is enough" and urged Centre to give a befitting reply to the "dastardly act of Pakistan.”
Meanwhile, many police departments, journalists, activists and citizens have come forward to offer help Kashmiri students.
